If you read my very last post The Ultimate Guide to Thrift Shopping (and if you didn’t, what are you still doing here! Read that first then come finish this!) then you would know how much Ilove to thrift shop which is why a lot of these pieces including the bracelet, top and shoes are all from the thrift store! So this outfit was all really good deal but I’ll get into all the logistics of each piece bellow…
One of the down sides of thrift store shopping is that a lot of the clothes can be an older style, not that I really mind. I honestly think I was born into the wrong era, I mean can you imagine living in the 70s and 80s at the very peak of pop culture without having too much social media, sounds like a dream!
This outfit was inspired by the disco days of the past with a dialed-down, modern look that could be worn from day to night! This outfit is not only comfortable but looks like you actually tried when in reality you’re just wearing a comfy pair of pants, a shirt, and lightly dressing it up with heels and a bracelet, how much easier can it get!
I personally love this look and the versatility it has since having the ability to dress something either up or down is super important for me. Here in California there is no such thing as too casual and so you never really know what you are getting yourself into! You would think a fancy dinner might require a nice outfit but around here half the people are still wearing flip-flops!
You might not think this halter top would be comfortable at all since glittery typically doesn’t mean soft but the inside is actually really soft! So this shirt is from Topshop but I got it at a resale shop for around 5 dollars which isn’t the cheapest but it’s still pretty good considering it was much more expensive before.
I loved placing this top with bottoms that are on the looser side which is why I thought mom jeans would be perfect with it! I also love the color and it really makes blue or green eyes pop plus it made my skin look tanner in the pictures, yay!
You can still buy it directly from Topshop right now an it is only ten dollars! Buy or check it out here
I absolutely love these jeans and wear them all the time! They don’t fit me the best but mom jeans are typically like that. The dark stitching in contrast to the white adds a really neat effect and looks super good on camera! Plus these are high-waisted jeans, my favorite!
I purchased these jeans from Urban Outfitters from one of their sales for 40 percent off the sale price so I got a real steal at 12 dollars! If you want really good deals definitely go to Urban Outfitters when the have a sale on sale items, I always end up leaving with so much cute stuff!
I wore these Dolce Vita braided wedges. They are pretty good for heels as far as comfort although they were quite high for me! Still, I love how they look and appreciate that fact that I left without a single blister :) que the celebration! I really enjoyed putting these with the outfit since I think it definitely dressed up the look without requiring a lot, or any, extra effort.
Another thing is that wedges can swig both ways, being both dressy and casual, at least in California. So when I wore this around a super casual area, I really didn’t feel too dressy which I never really want to be that try hard person, but that’s just me.
I tried to find these but these were again a thrift store find for under ten dollars! I couldn’t find the exact ones but I found a really similar pair here and if your willing to settle for something similar you could find it now since espadrilles are the big thing.
So I obviously didn’t go crazy with accessories here but I wanted to still quickly mention them. I wore a thick gold band bracelet from BCBG, it was so cute and really made a statement.
Another not accessory but thing to address would be my hair. I wore my hair half-up- half-down which reminded me of the spice girl but obviously not a cool. anyway I thought it was a nice way to pull the entire look together and add in some drama.
